A Naver search results page is built from several blocks, such as Blog, Cafe, Knowledge iN, Shopping, News, Place and Video, and the order changes with what the searcher wants to know. Unlike a Google page that lists websites, Naver pulls much of its content from its own services. For a foreign brand, this means ranking is less about one page and more about being present in the right blocks.
Why the page is built from blocks
Naver is a platform as well as a search engine. It indexes content from its own blogs, community Cafes, Q&A, shopping and local listings, then arranges them into sections. If you are new to this, start with what Naver is and how it works and our comparison of Naver and Google ranking.
The main blocks and what they reward
The Blog block shows long, detailed posts and often rewards useful reviews and guides, as covered in our Naver Blog guide. The Cafe block shows discussions from member communities, explained in our Naver Cafe guide. The Knowledge iN block shows answered questions, see Naver Knowledge iN explained. The Shopping block shows products and prices, compared in Naver Shopping vs Coupang. The Place block shows local businesses, see Naver Place explained.
How the order changes with intent
A search for a place to visit tends to surface local results first. A search to compare products tends to surface shopping and review content. A question tends to surface Q&A and blogs. Because the layout shifts, one keyword can need content in several places. Block order and names change over time, so check the live results for your own keywords rather than assuming.
What this means for a foreign brand
Check which blocks appear for your main Korean keywords, then plan content for those blocks. A brand with only a website often has no presence in the blocks Korean searchers see first. Research keywords with the method in our Naver DataLab guide, and keep your information consistent across every block.

Where to start
Search your top three Korean keywords on Naver and list the blocks that appear and who occupies them. That is your content map. If you want help building it, see our Naver SEO and viral marketing service or current package pricing, or read our guide to Korea market entry services.
Paid placements also appear on this page, see our Naver Search Ads guide for how they work.

Frequently asked questions
What blocks appear on a Naver results page?

Is Naver’s page layout fixed?
No. The blocks and their order change with the search intent and over time.
Can my website appear on Naver?
It can, but much of the visible space goes to Naver’s own services, so a website alone is rarely enough.
Do I need content in every block?
No. Focus on the blocks that appear for your own keywords.
